CLIENT: Hotel George

LOCATION: London, UK

CRAB designed a pavilion for Hotel George, a hotel with an expansive, mature garden – a rarity in central London. The pavilion makes use of a singular material structurally – thin corten steel sheets. Reminiscent of a contemporary Stonehenge, its corten sheet legs are strategically angled to frame picturesque views of the garden. With a planted roof, the pavilion becomes an intriguing focal point when observed from the hotel rooms above. Functionally, it serves as a sculptural addition to the hotel, enhancing outdoor events, breakfasts, and overall use and enjoyment of the garden space. The structure imparts a sense of lightness and has been designed with minimal maintenance in mind, ensuring a practical and enduring addition to the hotel’s outdoor amenities.
