CLIENT: Promperu

LOCATION: London, UK

CRAB was commissioned to design the Peru London Pavilion following our success in an international competition organised by Promperu, The Trade Commission of Peru in London.

The vibrant pavilion made its appearance at the 2012 World Travel Market held at the Excel centre in London, a four-day event dedicated to networking and promoting various countries and holiday destinations within the travel industry.

CRAB’s design for the pavilion draws inspiration from Peru’s diverse and colourful culture, incorporating elements such as Macchu Picchu and the vibrant local textiles of Peru. The representation of the country is visually striking, with individual stands crafted from a variety of rainbow-coloured plywood units. Painted strips of plywood arch over seating areas, creating pockets of space conducive to business and social interaction. These areas are illuminated by environmentally friendly LED strip lights and task spotlights.

The strategic arrangement of the bar, performance stage, and exhibition space encourages social congregation and ensures a dynamic flow of movement throughout the pavilion.
